A man has been extradited and charged with murder after a person was fatally shot while allegedly involved in a break-in.
The 24-year-old was arrested on the Gold Coast on Wednesday before being extradited to Sydney, where he was formally charged with murder over the death of Jamie Goodworth.
He is due to appear in court on Thursday.
Police allege Mr Goodworth, 32, was shot while attempting a break and enter at Edensor Park, in Sydney’s west, early on February 24.
A man has been extradited and charged with murder after another man was fatally shot.
The Mt Druitt man was dropped at nearby Liverpool Hospital about 1am with multiple gunshot wounds, but he died despite emergency surgery.
Officers from Queensland and NSW executed a number of search warrants in both states on Tuesday.
They seized electronics, cash and documents police said were relevant to the investigation.
At the time of the incident, Superintendent Adam Whyte said the attack was likely not random.
“It does appear that it’s targeted,” he said.
“Another male dropped him at hospital. That’s an avenue we’re pursuing.”
The alleged killer was denied police bail and was due to face Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court.
