Australian actor Isla Fisher has revealed she’s stuck in Queensland as Cyclone Alfred closes in.
The 49-year-old shared a series of Instagram posts revealing she’s among the millions in south-east Queensland and northern NSW who are hunkering down as the region awaits its first direct hit from a cyclone in decades.
Fisher, who has been filming Spa Weekend in the Gold Coast, first shared an ominious photo of darkening storm clouds.

It came a day after American rapper Ice Cube told Australian TV he was “trapped” in a hotel as Cyclone Alfred closed in.
The 55-year-old rapper, who is in Australia for shows in Sydney and Melbourne this week, told Network Ten’s The Project he was stranded in his hotel on the Gold Coast.
“I’m staying clear of [the storm],” Cube said on Wednesday.
“It is pretty cool. I haven’t been through a cyclone before. I can check this off my bucket list for sure.”
While the NWA icon seems to be close to the storm, he appeared to be staying lighthearted.
“You know, I’m right here on the beach. The beach looks like it is going to be in the lobby in a minute,” he said.
Ice Cube has since shared messages via Instagram from fans who had been planning to drive to his Sydney concert on Friday.

Numerous flights are grounded and airports have been closed in Queensland and northern NSW ahead of the storm.
The Project hosts also took the opportunity to ask if Ice Cube had spent time with Paul Rudd and Jack Black, who are in the region filming the Anaconda reboot.
“I never saw them. I was just out doing some sightseeing and hanging out before my Sydney show,” Cube – who starred in the original movie in 1997 – said.
“I haven’t seen Jack Black or Paul Rudd around here. I don’t know what you are talking about!”
Meanwhile, people in the path of the category two storm have been urged to “act now” and leave the region before the “extremely rare” weather worsens.
On Thursday, the NSW State Emergency Service has warned all residents to remain indoors, including in Lismore and Byron Bay – towns that were devastated by record-breaking floods three years ago.
About a dozen prepare to evacuate orders have already been issued including for Ballina, Belongil and Kyogle.
NSW Premier Chris Minns has flown to Lismore to thank about 2000 SES volunteers who are stationed in the region.
“Stay out of flood waters, stay at home during the peak of the storm – make good decisions,” he said on Thursday.
“We hope for the best, but we’re prepared for the worst.”
Alfred is expected to lash the east coast with heavy rain and wind forecast to peak on Thursday night and Friday morning.
