To mark the start of the 2025 BrisAsia Festival, the Story Bridge, Victoria Bridge and the new Kangaroo Point Bridge will be decked in magnificent lights of pink, blue and red. On Friday January 31, Southside by Night will be bringing bringing together the hottest hip-hop talents, artists, cars and food from Brisbane’s southside all under one roof. You can enjoy performances from local artists and tasty eats from street food stalls while marvelling at street, luxury and performance cars.
Fish Lane will be filled with traditional performances, street theatre, breakdancing and cosplay as part of Lush on Fish Lane on Saturday February 1. As you stroll through the vibrant street fair you can sample delicious Asian cuisine from local restaurants including Southside, Hello Please, Chu the Phat and Bird’s Nest.
Then on Sunday February 2, grab your picnic blanket and settle in for an afternoon of family fun, festivity and flavour at Lunar New Year in the Gardens. Celebrate the Year of the Snake in the beautiful Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens with captivating performances from Lion Dancers, martial arts displays, live music from Sitar virtuoso Sudha Manian, renowned Tibetan music Tenzin Choegyal and tabla virtuoso Dheeraj Shrestha, and local Brisbane DJs.
Other festival highlights include the Asia Pop Showcase: Hanmaum Kpop at the Thomas Dixon Centre on Saturday 8 February – where you can watch Brisbane’s bustling Kpop coverist community take the stage with thrilling performances of addictive melodies and slick choreography. Longwang in The City is offering A Weekend in Soul with head chef Andy Choi, who will take you on a culinary journey to his hometown through an inventive menu of Korean flavours. The Singapore Symphony Orchestra will be making its debut at BrisAsia Festival 2025 as part of its inaugural Australian tour with an afternoon of Romantic masterpieces including Tchaikovsky, Brahms and a mesmerising new work by award-winning Singaporean composer Koh Cheng Jin.
