Brisbane Comedy Festival’s rip-roaring 2025 roster will have you rolling in the aisles

Buckle up chuckleheads, because Brisbane Comedy Festival is returning in 2025 with a rip-roaring roster that’s bursting at the seams with fabulously funny people. The month-long festival is set to take over the city from April 23 to May 25, with 134 acts filling four venues with a sensational selection of shows that will have you rolling in the aisles. The full-line up is now on sale so get in quick sticks to nab your favourite funny fix.   

Brisbane Comedy Festival 2025’s handpicked selection of funny folk includes UK comedy stars like Sara Pascoe, Tom Allen, Nish Kumar and Ed Gamble, alongside a bevy of Tasman-Sea-jumping New Zealand gagsters such as David Correos, Hayley Sproull, Abby Howells, Rhys Darby and Ray O’Leary. There’s also a wealth of home-grown Aussie comics including Janty Blair, Emma Holland, Jenny Tian, Luke McGregor, Geraldine Hickey, Lizzy Hoo, Sammy J and many, many more. The spectacular smorgasbord of stand-up will be spread amongst four venues this year – The Fort, The Princess, The Tivoli and Brisbane Powerhouse.

If  you’re in the mood for more than stand-up, Brisbane Comedy Festival‘s program also includes a number of theatre and musical comedy experiences, including award-winning cult cabaret An Evening Without Kate Bush, musical comedy power-couple Two Hearts, no-holds-barred drunken antics providers Shit-Faced Shakespeare, improvised whodunnit Murder Village and the triumphant return of Shrek-inspired burlesque and drag parody Swamplesque – fresh off its box office record-smashing run at  Edinburgh Fringe.

Tickets for the festival’s side-tickling kick off, Brisbane Comedy Festival Opening Gala at Fortitude Music Hall on Thursday April 24 have already sold out and the Brisbane Comedy Festival Showcase at The Tivoli on Sunday May 11 is selling fast.
