Demolition has begun at 360 Riding Road, clearing the way for Bhode – a brand-new $40-million development from Cielo Group. Looking to become a welcoming beacon to Bulimba, Bhode will marry modern luxury design and community connectivity to enhance the way locals live, work and relax.
Anyone circling around the Bulimba fiveways roundabout recently will have seen some demolition works taking place on the triangular axis between Hawthorne Road and Riding Road. This pointed parcel of land will soon be home to Bhode, a brand-new mixed-use development from Cielo Group.
The construction, architecture and development crew recently received council approval to proceed with the $40-million project, which looks to transform the iconic intersection into a modern landmark and tone-setting introduction to the suburb’s high street of Oxford Street.
Milton Zietsman of ZArchitects has crafted a design scheme that promotes 360-degrees of elevated lifestyle as well as a high level of functionality. The building’s three levels will boast a scalloped facade, with a veiled garden tower rising over the roundabout. The development will be anchored by a public lobby, which serves as an entryway into the residential lobby for the building’s 13 apartments – all of which will extend outward in ways reminiscent of traditional Queenslander home verandas. A ground-floor cafe will also branch off the lobby, as will a lift offering access to Bhode’s publicly accessible rooftop terrace.
“This development is about creating a dynamic destination that celebrates the future of Bulimba — an area that will thrive as a vibrant, innovative hub, further enhancing Brisbane’s reputation as a city of luxury,” said Cielo Group’s founder Justin O’Donnell in a statement.
Bhode will join a raft of new developments set to reshape Bulimba in the coming years, including the masterplanned community at the Bulimba Barracks site and Cielo Group’s urban village projet Lua, which will mix dining, boutique retail and wellness amenities.
