Beatrice Nember and Diego Metrangolo opened Acciuga in Sandgate in October 2024 with a goal of creating a unique, unapologetically personal dining experience. Hailing from Italy, the couple brings their passion for experimentation and penchant for maximal flavours to the table, with a focus on fresh, sustainable seafood and contemporary Italian cuisine. Acciuga is a modern Italian restaurant without the traditional staples like lasagna or carbonara, instead prioritising bold, fresh ingredients and innovative combinations. The menu evolves constantly, featuring homemade dishes like their signature linguine with king prawns and Moreton Bay bug, alongside small plates and creative pasta options. The bar offers a curated selection of wines, cocktails, and Italian beers, while the restaurant’s coastal aesthetic and commitment to handmade products, such as bread, butter, and even tofu make it a standout in Brisbane’s Italian-heavy dining scene.
