In October 2024, Potentia Solutions Leisure – the hospitality group responsible for Soko Rooftop and Lina Rooftop – opened Azteca at The Star Brisbane. Joining a host of restaurants as residents of The Terrace, Azteca stands out with its lush Aztec-inspired interior, which boasts large water features, mosaic tiling, custom ceramics, live greenery, custom-made brass tables, semi-private circular pods wih cushy sofa chairs, and a secret 14-seat private-dining room. Overseeing the Azteca kitchen is Zac Sykes (formerly of The Boom Boom Room), who is orchestrating an offering inspired by the flavours of Latin America and Asia. Stand-out dishes include truffle churros topped with chicken liver parfait, agave and pickled shallot, dry-aged Gooralie free-range pork chop with grilled pineapple and fermented jalapeno, and dry-aged half Peking duck with blood plum sauce and arepas. The fare is bolstered by a sturdy wine list featuring more than 100 bottles, as well as a cocktail menu anchored by a number of variations on the iconic caipirinha.
