Melrose opening in Bulimba in May 2021, with the Venzin Group transforming the space above Darvella on Oxford Street into an oasis inspired by Bali and Thailand. Now owned and operated by Anna and Paul Adams, Melrose specialises in contemporary pan-Asian cuisine, with guests flocking to dine under panoramic blue skies by day and twinkling stars at night. Head chef Will Laysico is heading up the kitchen, putting his wealth of experience cooking pan-Asian cuisine in some of New Zealand’s finest restaurants. Will’s share-style menu includes the likes of slipper lobster roll with spicy tamarind mayo, soft-shell crab baos, five spice duck pancakes, beef short ribs with tom yum dressing, char-grilled barramundi green curry, black Angus beef brisket rendang, and Jerusalem artichoke yellow curry. To drink, Melrose’s fetching bar dispenses an extensive wine list featuring a curated selection of Australian and international wines, as well as an impressive collection of hand-crafted cocktails and local beers.
