Since opening in November 2023, Los Angeles-inspired La Bodega Taqueria has a become a favourite amongst East Brisbane locals. Now, the team behind the terracotta-coloured taco joint has taken over a neighbouring tenancy on its Lytton Road corner to open OLLI Italiano. Looking to honour timeless culinary traditions while nudging the boundaries of what a modern Italian restaurant can be, this 50-seat pizza and pasta bar sees the team serve an array of punchy Italian-inspired eats and drinks. We’re talking crispy Neapolitan-style pizzas, a selection of saucy pastas, a clutch of antipasti and the house specialty Negroni-Olli-ves – Castelvetrano olives set in a negroni and orange jelly that is just as delicious as it is aesthetically pleasing. The drinks list has been considered just as much as the food, featuring classic Italian cocktails and a selection of Italian and Australian wines. The OLLI team’s aim is to bring the same vibrant community-centric vibe that La Bodega exudes, centred around good food, good drinks and good times. At OLLI Italiano you can start with an apertivo and antipasti, settle in for pizza and pasta, and stay for late-night vibes and drinks.
