Walkway to Ceylon, a new eatery in Stones Corner, brings the vibrant flavours of Sri Lankan cuisine to Brisbane. Owned by chefs Sam and Nirosha, along with their son Shane, the restaurant traces its roots to a food truck the family ran in 2020, selling Sri Lankan delights at local markets. After opening their first bricks-and-mortar venue Cafe 299 in Coorparoo after the pandemic, they quickly outgrew the limited space and moved to a larger venue on Logan Road, allowing them to expand their menu. Offering a mix of street food and traditional dishes like kottu, godamba roti, and the 299 Banana Leaf feast, Walkway to Ceylon introduces diners to the rich, spice-driven flavours of Sri Lanka without overwhelming heat. The venue also features a well-stocked bar and plans to expand its offerings with lamb roti wraps and popular monthly hopper nights.
