Crafty Party with Paper Hands

Museum of Brisbane will bloom after dark when Paper Hands artist Holly Neilson hosts a floral-wall hanging workshop on December 4 – complete with bubbles and plenty of beautiful art.

Holly is a Brisbane-based freelance illustrator and creator of Paper Hands. Raised by the coast and its surrounding rainforests, the artist has always had an intimate relationship with the wild. Art has afforded Holly a vessel to navigate her own mental health journey, with works that depict a collaboration between the natural environment and the individual and mediate the power of regeneration.

This edition of Crafty Party has been inspired by MoB’s current exhibition Rearranged: Art of the Flower. The new 2.5-hour experience invites you to hand stitch blooms inspired by Holly’s joyful practice. Design your original artwork before trying your hand at a few embroidery techniques to create your final piece, all while being guided in a fun, friendly and inclusive environment.

The evening won’t only brighten up your week with a night of connection and creativity but will also let you take home your striking wall decoration to brighten up your space.
