Sandwich slinger DannyBoys opens new store in Boondall
Is there anything as satisfyingly sumptuous as the simple sandwich? The gourmet dough-loving denizens at DannyBoys don’t think so, which is why they’ve focused their culinary concentration into creating some of the freshest, most flavourful sangas ever slung between two slices of bread. This approach has garnered a cult following of hungry uni students and local office workers since DannyBoys first opened its Kelvin Grove doors in 2011. Now a whole new population will be rocked by DannyBoys Rockstar Sandwiches as it opens a new outpost in Boondall.
The story of DannyBoys begins somewhat dramatically in the middle of the Mediterranean Ocean. Founder and CEO Daniel McKennariey was working as a private chef on super yachts and private estates all over the USA, Europe and Caribbean. While experiencing many wondrous world cuisines, he grew to realise that everyone, no matter how different, could come together to appreciate a great sandwich. Filled with passion – and spotting a gap in the market – he returned to Australia to start his own sandwich shop.
At DannyBoys you can wrap your laughing gear around a wide range of tasty sandwiches including classics of the genre like B.L.Ts, roast beef and tasty tuna salad. The team also offers gourmet creations such as the Italian Stallion (which contains Italian salami, mortadella, leg ham, provolone cheese, red onion, kalamata olives, lettuce, mayonnaise and Italian dressing), or the Big Ken (prime roast beef, salami, Monterey jack cheese, dill pickles, red onion, horseradish, lettuce and mayonnaise). If you’re looking to lighten your carb load at lunch, all DannyBoys’ sandwiches come with the option to switch your freshly baked bread for a lettuce wrap. Even if you’re (unthinkably) not in the mood for sandwiches, you can sup on DannyBoys nourishing menu of soups and sides.
