Hello Hellenophiles – Paniyiri Greek Festival returns in May

Mar 26, 2025, updated Mar 26, 2025

Can you hear that? It’s the sound of plates smashing, hands clapping and tender morsels sizzling – yep, Paniriyi Greek Festival is back from May 17-18! The longest running Greek festival in the country, Paniyiri, will be setting up shop in Musgrave Park for a weekend of exuberant cultural celebration. Tickets are on sale now, so score yourself a window into the wonderful world of all things Greek.

This hotly anticipated yearly event is a madcap multi-sensory experience of mediterranean merry making. All are welcome and encouraged to dance the Zorba, taste Greek wines, shop the market stalls, enjoy a non-stop lineup of entertainment while dining on a smorgasbord of authentic Greek fare. Our personal favourite pitstop has got to be the food stalls representing 11 different Greek regions, serving everything from kataifi to keftedes, haloumi to honey puffs. We’re drooling just thinking about it.

The year’s festival will return with everyone’s favourites, along with some exciting new additions including a special Paniyiri picnic experience. Settle down in the the exclusive VIP picnic area (with a perfect view of the main stage) on top of a Greek-themed blue and white picnic blanket to soak in the action and atmosphere as you chow down on a delicious box of authentic home-made mezze including keftethes, spanakopita, taramasalata, tzatziki, kalamata olives with Yiayia’s secret marinade, locally produced feta and, of course, pita bread.

This laze and graze experience is strictly limited and must be booked online before 12 May, so gather your crew and get ready to enjoy. For more information about Paniyiri 2025, and to book your tickets, head to the website here
