Ride the Rudolph Express
To add an extra jolly jingle to your journey, climb aboard the Rudolph Express tram. Galloping across the Gold Coast from early December 2024 to early January 2025, the Rudolph Express is back to spread a little Christmas cheer as he faithfully ferries you back and forth from all your reindeer games.
Carols on the Beach
Prepare to sing your heart out as Carols on the Beach returns to the sands of Surfers Paradise on December 15. This free family event promises three hours of caroling and carousing, finishing with a magical fireworks finale. Hosted by power couple Matty J and Laura, this year’s line-up includes toddler-techno superstar Lenny Pearce and the one and only Emma Memma. This amazing event is sure to draw in the crowds so plan ahead and ride the G: to Cavill Avenue station. Additional tram services will be running between 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Make Merry at Christmas Markets
A cheery Christmas Market is a great place to score unique gifts for friends and family (and maybe a few little treats for you too) as well as soak up the holly-jolly vibes. Ride the G: to Cavill Avenue station on December 14 to catch the Surfers Paradise Christmas Twilight Market. Stroll through hundreds of bespoke makers and artisan stalls, offering special stocking stuffers and goodies galore. There’ll be live music and roving entertainment, sweets and treats, and even a stop by a surfing Santa Claus. Between December 20–22, catch the G: to Southport station for the Christmas Markets GC at Broadwater Parklands. Nestled among an enchanting display of shimmering lights, this market is a menagerie of one-of-a-kind gifts and delectable Yuletide treats.
Christmas in Broadbeach
Make some memories as Broadbeach Mall transforms into a magical gingerbread village from December 14-22. There are a brace of festive workshops on offer, including gingerbread cookie decorating, Christmas craft and story time theatre. The village also includes Santa’s Post Office (for sending any important letters to the North Pole) and the Oasis Treasure Hunt with clues around every corner. Each evening from 5:30–8:30 pm Santa himself will stop by the Gingerbread Village with his elves, ready to hang out, take some pictures and hear some Christmas wish lists. While the little ones make some precious childhood memories, weary caregivers can recharge in the covered area next to Oasis Coffee. Ride the G: to Broadbeach North station.
