Why reach for the stars, when you can stroll amongst them? Astra Lumina, which was temporarily halted due to damage from ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, is once again set to wow audiences at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. From Wednesday March 19, you’re invited to embark on an enchanting and immersive after-dark journey where the cosmos comes alive in a spectacular blend of light, sound and technology.
Astra Lumina has been imagined by Moment Factory, the world-renowned multimedia studio responsible for creating mesmerising productions for the likes of Billie Eilish, Madonna and Disney. Having already wowed over a million visitors in Los Angeles, Seattle and Philadelphia, Astra Lumina Gold Coast marks an exciting first for the Southern Hemisphere. The cosmic journey will take you on a curated trail through Currumbin’s 27 hectares of pristine bushland by night, far from the usual wildlife experience. As you walk along the path, immersive projections, lighting and otherworldly soundscapes will envelop you.
“Astra Lumina Gold Coast combines nature, storytelling and immersive technology to create unforgettable moments under the stars. It is an incredible way to showcase the Sanctuary’s beauty after dark, while offering a world-class experience for guests of all ages,” said Travis Couch, general manager of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Astra Lumina experience is designed for everyone, making it a perfect night out for families, friends or a date night with a difference. The permanent installation, which reopens March 19, will operate year-round, with tickets available from $35.
