Hanks, located along Musgrave Street with sweeping views of the foreshore, brings a touch of coastal Europe to the southern Gold Coast. Created by seasoned hospitality pros Peter and Tracey Cianci with Jarrod Kyle and TJ Cianci, Hanks seats 100 diners across its cosy indoor area and sidewalk seating. Executive chef Blake Fewtrell has crafted a coastal-inspired menu, starting with snacks like smoked wagyu crostino and Tuscan ‘Schiacciata’ bread, followed by plates of smoked mortadella, chargrilled octopus, burrata and fresh pasta. Mains include Aunt Caroline’s spinach and ricotta rotolo, Ballina king prawns, market-fresh fish and steaks. Drinks are a focal point, with an international wine selection and a ‘modern alchemy’ cocktail menu that dives deep into the nuances of the negroni, sours, and tikis, emphasising their dedication to fine drinks.
