Nestled in the heart of Currumbin Waters, Home is a cafe with a unique story, blending surf culture and community spirit. What began as a crazy idea between lifelong friends, has blossomed into a thriving hub for both visitors and those who call Currumbin home.
That homely environment begins with the coffee. Locals including Sam, Wade and Nic had grown to love the ST. ALi coffee served at Portside, so it was important to keep the brew that the customers know and love.
The building itself though has undergone an incredible floor-to-ceiling transformation, creating a warm, familiar atmosphere with a seamless flow between the kitchen and dining areas. Open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week, Home features a dedicated takeaway counter out in the sun-kissed courtyard, which opens from 5:30 am on weekdays and 6:30 am on weekends.
Home’s menu, carefully curated by Nic, features simple yet flavourful dishes, focusing on fresh, local ingredients. Everything on the menu is homemade, from the baked goods to the sambal. The cafe strikes a balance between quick, grab-and-go meals and leisurely brunch experiences. Home offers breakfast favourites, whilst bringing some exciting new flavours and techniques to the fold. The go-to avocado toast has been levelled-up with charred red peppers and sesame sambal. The humble potato hash hits the high notes with walnut parmesan and a romesco sauce made in-house. For the sweet tooth, the French toast has been soaked overnight, and is served with dark chocolate cremeaux, chocolate hazelnut crumble and raspberry semifreddo. It’s comfort food that keeps you coming back for more.
