Named after the Greek word Kefi, which roughly translated means a lifestyle marked by joy and savouring everyday experiences, Coolangatta’s cheerful new eatery aims to encapsulate that very feeling. Kefi Cafe dishes up a Mediterranean-inspired menu that is heavily influenced by travels abroad. The morning morsels range from light bites such as acai bowls and bircher muesli to more substantial bites including Turkish eggs, a Spanish omelette loaded with spiced eggs, potato, chilli butter, rocket, parmesan and kalamata crumb, and a jam-packed breakfast pita. Those with a hankering for lunch can tuck into a gyros plate that is guaranteed to ignite the kefi in you with confit-lamb shoulder, tzatziki, salsa, crispy chickpeas, a slather of hummus, salsa verde and flatbread, while the spaghetti gamberi is guaranteed to transport your taste buds to the Mediterranean coastline with prawns, lemon, garlic, chilli oil and black salt. Flowing through the machines you’ll find Five Senses Coffee, a sustainable specialty coffee that’s committed to delivering exceptional quality with a positive impact, alongside juices and smoothies. From 10:00 am, there’s also a succinct scattering of cocktails.
