If there’s one thing we know about Pavilions, it’s that they are an absolute vibe. The latest Pav to join the ranks (joining the likes of Burleigh, Robina, Surfers and Pimpama) is Southport Pavilion, overlooking the glistening Nerang River. The light-and-bright new eatery has transformed the iconic waterfront site that was formerly home to De Vito Waterfront. The aptly named sundeck, which is lined with picnic-style tables, is the ideal spot to surrender to sun-soaked long lunches, sundowners that roll effortlessly into evenings, and, of course, delightful dinners that kick on well into the evening. At either end is a couple of spacious cabanas that will feature bottle service, for those who wish to enjoy an elevated experience. In terms of the menu, expect a tightly curated selection of pub-style classics with a spotlight on local and seasonal produce – think burgers, steak, charcuterie boards and snack plates such as karaage, haloumi fries and saucy wings. When it comes to the drinks, Southport Pavilion will be championing locally made beverages, Insta-worthy cocktails as well as non-alcoholic options. Although there will be no singing wait staff here (if you know, you know), you certainly won’t be sitting in silence with DJs and musicians keeping the vibes high. There are plans to introduce Sunday bottomless brunch, so keep your peepers peeled.
