We’ve put together a handy guide to the top Mother’s Day events on the Gold Coast this year – from fancy feasts and vineyard picnics to music gigs and family-friendly farm festivals, there’s something for every mum.
The Star Gold Coast, Broadbeach
From authentic yum cha and decadent buffets to trawler-fresh seafood and some of the finest steaks in town, The Star is serving up an array of indulgent delights this Mother’s Day. Whisk mum away to the Amalfi coastline with a relaxing long lunch at Cucina Vivo where she’ll enjoy authentic Italian eats and a flute of sparkling on arrival, or treat her to a seafood feast at Harvest Buffet – think fresh prawns, oysters and an array of oceanic delights. Garden Kitchen & Bar will be serving up a delicious Mother’s Day Shared Chilled Seafood special – Moreton Bay bug bound with horseradish mayonnaise, cos lettuce, beach banana, tartare sauce and chilled Queensland prawns with sauce Marie Rose. If top-flight sushi and delicate sashimi is the way to mum’s heart, treat her to an exquisite set menu at innovative Japanese dining spot Kiyomi. Downstairs, Cantonese favourite Uncle Su will be delighting mums with yum cha spreads and delicious multi-course banquets. Oscietra caviar, fine seafood and some of the best steaks in town are on the menu at Nineteen at The Star, for those looking to treat mum to a sophisticated dining experience with a side serve of stellar skyline views.
Vikasati, Southport
Looking to flip the script on the usual Mother’s Day flowers and chocolates? Give the gift of wellness and self-care instead. Let mum escape the chaos, unwind and recharge with a Vikasati bathhouse session, where she can reduce stress and tension in the traditional Finnish sauna, submerge in the revitalising cold and hot magnesium pools, and plunge into the 5-degree ice bath. Vikasati is perfect for mums on their own, couples and small groups looking to take some time out while embracing deep relaxation, reducing stress and accelerating recovery. To let mum feel revitalised and restored this Mother’s Day, head to the Vikasati website and book a wellness session or purchase a gift voucher. You can also swing by Vikasati Southport to pick up a beautifully wrapped gift card.
