It’s wild to think that Kirra Beach House has only been part of the Gold Coast scene for just over a year. From day one, it planted its flag in the sand – quite literally – claiming a prized spot presiding over the suburb’s glorious stretch of beach, immediately becoming the go-to for sun-drenched lunches, breezy sunset sessions and spontaneous celebrations. Now, with a firm grip on what the locals (and savvy visitors) love, the venue is mixing things up with new menu featuring a hint of nostalgia and a crab shack.
Kirra Beach House’s latest menu drop is built around two key ideas – familiar favourites, made famous. Director Dave Galvin, of Site Hospitality, and his team have leaned into comfort-food nostalgia and reimagined it for the modern beach crowd. Think crispy potato scallops that spark memories of barefoot summers, Roman-style pizzas with golden crusts, tacos bursting with flavour, silky kingfish ceviche and slow-roasted lamb that practically melts at the mere suggestion of a fork.
“We’ve created a menu that’s familiar, fresh and full of flavour – perfect for relaxed seaside dining,” Dave says. “Whether it’s a casual bite, a business lunch or a long afternoon with friends, Kirra Beach House is all about bringing people together in a warm and welcoming way.”
And it doesn’t stop at the a la carte. Kirra Beach House is doubling down on good times with a calendar of themed weekly features, each one more tempting than the last. Kicking things off is Taco & Tequila Tuesdays, where you can tuck into two tacos for $10. Pair it with a $6 spicy Gringo shot and you’ll quickly forget it’s only Tuesday. Then, it’s Steak Night. Enjoy a succulent cut of steak drizzled in cafe de Paris butter and bottomless frites dusted in the most delicious seasoning. Then comes Kirra Crab Shack Thursdays, where a whole blue swimmer crab lands on your table, complete with bib and crustacean crackers. Pair it with a side of French champagne for a bougie touch. It’s equal parts finger-lickin’ and fancy.
As for the drinks, the new cocktail menu is a cheeky nod to vintage beachside glamour – channeling the golden tiki bars of mid-century LA with a Gold Coast twist. Expect bold colours, tropical flavours and playful garnishes in statement vessels that could double as sculpture. Signature stars include the Palms Sour (kaffir lime vodka, rosewater watermelon, lime leaf), Tiki Punch (rum, banana orgeat, passionfruit soda), and Smoke on the Water (mezcal, luxardo, yellow Chartreuse, a whiff of burnt rosemary for drama).
Whether you’re pulling up a stool for a midweek bite, gathering the crew for a long lazy lunch, or just chasing that golden hour glow with a cocktail in hand, Kirra Beach House continues to prove it’s more than a venue – it’s a lifestyle.
