To get there, ride the G: to Cavill Avenue station.
Anzac Day, Friday April 25
On Friday April 25, a series of Anzac Day services will be held across the Gold Coast, including two major services at Southport and Surfers Paradise. In Southport, the Broadwater Parklands’ Anzac Day dawn service begins at 5:00 am, followed by a stirring Citizen Service at 9:00 am. Meanwhile, in Surfers Paradise, the commemorations begin with a dawn march along Beach Road at 5:00 am, leading to the poignant Anzac Day dawn service on the Surfers Paradise esplanade at 5:30 am. It’s always a busy morning on the Gold Coast for Anzac Day, and the G:link is the ideal way to get around. To get to the Southport ceremony, ride the G: to the Broadwater Parklands station. For the Surfers Paradise ceremony, jump off at either the Cavill Avenue station or the Surfers Paradise station.
Blues on Broadbeach, May 15–18
Blues on Broadbeach is back for four huge days of soulful rhythm and blues, with an impressive line-up set to transform the beachside precinct into a sun-drenched celebration for music lovers. The bill is stacked with acts like The Cruel Sea, Eli Paperboy Reed, Diesel, Vika & Linda, Eric Gales, Salmonella Dub Soundsystem, Fiona Boyes & The Fortune Tellers, Bondi Cigars, The Harlem Gospel Travelers and a whole heap more. The festival is free to attend (with the exception of the ticketed Jimmy Barnes concert) and attracts a huge crowd, so plan ahead with a lunch or dinner booking in Broadbeach, then get ready to dance in the streets. To get there, ride the G: to the Broadbeach South station and you’ll be right in the thick of the action.
Seafire, Saturday May 31
Family-friendly fireworks display Seafire will make an explosive return to the shores of Surfers Paradise this May – and it’s an absolute must-see. As the Gold Coast’s very own international fireworks competition, the night sees some of the world’s leading pyrotechnic teams create magic over the Surfers Paradise beachfront after dark. Pro tip – the event kicks off at 5:00 pm, so get in quick to make a dinner booking close to the fireworks action. Taking the G:? Jump off at the Cavill Avenue station.
