Stuck inside? Here are five binge-worthy TV shows to pass a rainy weekend
Alfred is doing everything it can to put a dampener on our week (and weekend), but there’s a silver lining to every cloud – even if said cloud is attached to a tropical cyclone. Seeing as there’s a good chance we’re all going to be housebound for the next 24 to 48 hours, it’s as good a time as any to catch up on some good old couch time. There are a bunch of great television shows on at the moment, from suspense-filled mysteries and action-packed sagas to light-hearted comedies and addictive reality shows. So let’s collectively cross our fingers and toes, hope that Alfred passes through with minimal impact (especially on our power lines) and get comfortable.
The White Lotus, Season Three – Binge
What can we say about The White Lotus that hasn’t already been said? Mike White’s sensational series is the most talked-about show of early 2025, and for good reason. Following on from its widely acclaimed second season, The White Lotus season three exchanges the chic setting of Sicily for the tropical paradise of Ko Samui, where an almost entirely new cast of characters (played by the likes of Walton Goggins, Parker Posey, Michelle Monaghan and Lalisa Manobal – aka Lisa from Blackpink) will be getting up to no good. Daredevil: Born Again – Disney+
The latest chapter in the long-running Marvel Cinematic Universe has just dropped its first two episodes on Disney+. Daredevil: Born Again is a revival and continuation of the Daredevil Netflix series, which follows blind lawyer Matt Murdock (portrayed by Charlie Cox) as he fights crime in the courtroom by day, and on the streets of Hells Kitchen as the masked vigilante, Daredevil. In this series, Daredevil once again comes face to face with long-time nemesis Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), who has exchanged the mantle of kingpin of crime in favour of becoming mayor of New York City.

Severance, Season Two – Apple TV+
After becoming a cult-favourite in many households thanks to a sensational debut season, Severance has returned to Apple TV+ with plenty more mysteries to unravel. This season rejoins the core cast of intrepid ‘innies’ (employees of Lumon Industries that have separated their workplace memories from their primary memories) as they continue to search for answers amongst the winding hallways of Lumon’s subterranean headquarters. Mind-bending and heartwarming in equal measure, Severance is a must-watch for those that love engrossing television.
Running Point – Netflix
Some of the brightest minds in comedy are behind Netflix’s latest sensation, Running Point. This sports comedy stars Kate Hudson as a 30-something reformed party girl Isla who gets appointed as the president of her family’s pro basketball team, the Los Angeles Waves. In addition to learning how to run a basketball team on the fly, Isla must contend with her ambitious brothers, juggle her own relationship and prove herself in a notoriously male-dominated industry. If you enjoy feel-good TV shows like Ted Lasso, give this one a shot. All episodes are available now on Netflix.
The Traitors US, Season Three – 10 Play
For the uninitiated, The Traitors is the ultimate murder mystery game. Every season, a different ensemble of players (a mix of famous faces and everyday Americans) will work together across a series of missions and challenges to build a grand prize worth up to $250,000. However, disguised amongst the cast are the Traitors, participants tasked with eliminating rival contestants one by one until they are the last ones standing. Set inside an ancient castle in Scotland and hosted by award-winning actor Alan Cumming, The Traitors is the perfect piece of television for those itching for a game show with bite.
