The Strand at Coolangatta is celebrating a whole month of mum with The Craft Parlour workshops and huge prizes
Mother’s Day is upon us – but why stop at just one day? This May, The Strand at Coolangatta is turning up the fun with its Month of Mum – a whole month packed with creativity, fun and surprises for all of the amazing mamas out there. Here is what’s lined up …
The Strand has partnered with renowned local creative haven The Craft Parlour to roll out a series of fun-filled Craft Workshops designed especially for mums. The workshops are the perfect Mother’s Day treat, giving busy mums the chance to take a break, tap into their creativity and, best of all, make a mess without having to clean it up!
Led by talented artists, The Craft Parlour’s sessions at The Strand kick off with Terracotta Pot Painting from May 2–4. Mums can sip on tea or coffee while painting a terracotta pot – each session featuring a different style, so mums can join multiple workshops and try out new techniques. The fun continues from May 9–11 with Watercolour Painting workshops, where mums can unwind with brushstrokes and create their own unique artwork, inspired by botanical themes and native Australian animals.
Linda Farrugia, owner of The Craft Parlour, explains that the workshops are all about giving mums a creative escape. “At The Craft Parlour, we love the joy and mindfulness of creative activities and play – getting your hands dirty, making a mess, having a laugh, trying something new and, just maybe, surprising yourself,” says Linda.

The Craft Workshops can be booked with a $10 donation, with all proceeds going directly to Safe Haven Community, which works to end violence against women by offering a safe place to stay.
The Strand’s Month of Mum is also offering the chance to win big, with more than $4,000 in prizes and vouchers to be won.
