The owners of Gold Coast Hinterland haven O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat have transformed a lush piece of former dairy-farming land into an exclusive eco-luxury accommodation experience named Pat’s Farm. The new boutique getaway features six off-grid chalets in the heart of the World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park.
Set against the backdrop of a working cattle farm, the new addition to the O’Reilly’s family promises a serene and secluded experience. Just six two-person chalets form the exclusive retreat, each designed to offer country luxury and high-end amenities while maintaining a low environmental footprint.
Pat’s Farm is a nod to the spectacular property’s rich history. In 1911, Pat O’Reilly purchased the farmland, operating it as a dairy farm before transitioning into cattle farming in the 1950s. Today, the thoughtfully positioned eco chalets overlook the storied and breathtaking ranges, ensuring guests can enjoy privacy and comfort while still connecting to nature.
Each freestanding chalet has its own private heated plunge pool, a fire pit, an outdoor hammock for after-dark star gazing and a cosy indoor fireplace. The rooms feature plush king beds, bespoke soft furnishings by Jen Robson and unique artwork by Terina Smith. The chalets have fully equipped kitchens (think Smeg appliances, an espresso machine and a Soda Stream) and a barbecue so guests can create memorable meals during their stay. In the pantry, there are cooking essentials like olive oil, balsamic vinegar and a variety of herbs, as well as a complimentary bottle of sparkling from O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards.
Pat’s Farm guests can pre-order an O’Reilly’s Farm Box to enjoy during their stay, which includes produce for two breakfasts and two dinners, as well as a gourmet cheese and fruit platter. If cooking isn’t your thing, there’s an in-room QR code to order dinner and drinks, which are delivered direct from the O’Reilly’s Dining Room nearby.
While the idea of staying at Pat’s Farm is to relax and go off-grid, there’s still high-speed WiFi at each chalet so you don’t have to fully disconnect.
Oh, and a feel-good fact for you – each Pat’s Farm booking includes a donation of $20 to the Green Mountains Natural History Association in support of the interpretation and education of visitors to Lamington National Park.
