Even amongst Gold Coast’s competitive bakery scene, Paddock Bakery stands out. The long-running institution, housed in a 70-year-old Queenslander in the back streets of Burleigh Heads, is a mecca for croissant cravers, doughnut desirers and sandwich seekers, and now – for a short time only – Paddock’s Brisbane fanbase will be able to get a taste of the bakery’s heralded range closer to home.
From today, Monday September 16, Paddock Bakery is posting up at Justin Lane in Fortitude Valley, transforming its takeaway shop into a pop-up dispensary every Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Paddock crew will be serving a curated selection of its all-star menu items, with something to sate both sweet and savoury cravings.
In the morning, commuters are encouraged to pop in and pick up a flaky croissant, a macadamia-filled or Nutella-infused cookie, a decadent chocolate brownie, a slice of carrot cake, or one of Paddock’s famous creme brulee or jam-filled doughnuts – all best enjoyed with a cup of silky Single O coffee to wash down your treat of choice.
If a sandwich is more what you’re after, the Paddock pop-up will be slinging a top-notch selection of sambos designed just for The Valley, including The Godfather (hot salami, mortadella, James St deli ham, provolone and giardiniera pickle), the Frenchie (a French onion and gruyere toastie on white sourdough), the Cluck Norris (Southern fried chicken with cabbage slaw and lashings of Franks hot sauce) and a signature bagel filled with New Zealand king smoked salmon, herbed cream cheese, spinach, pickled onion and capers.
Paddock Bakery’s Justin Lane pop-up is quietly launching today, but the team will be celebrating its official arrival in style with a free coffee day from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday September 25. See you there?
