Masterful manoushe and divine desserts – assemble the perfect tasting platter at Night Feast’s opening weekend

Nocturnal noshing will abound as Night Feast returns to transform Brisbane Powerhouse into a sensory wonderland of live music, awe-inspiring art and culinary extravagance. From October 16 to November 10, a spectacular selection of the country’s leading chefs will be whipping up their own unique takes on salivation-worthy street food. With an exciting array of returning favourites and enticing newcomers setting out their shingles, it’s set to be a gas of gastronomic delights. To help you out, we’ve put together some of our standout dishes to make sure you sample before the feast is through.

Scallop and prawn wontons from Donna Chang: Returning Night Feast faves Donna Chang are back bringing a sizzling sample menu of award-winning modern Chinese cuisine. We recommend their signature scallop and prawn wontons. Drizzled in black vinegar and chilli, these bite-sized beauties are bound to have you craving more.

Eggplant Manoushe from Gerard’s: Lauded Levant-inspired restaurant Gerard’s usually nests in the back of the James Street Arcade but it’s taking flight to Night Feast to share a selection of executive chef Jimmy Richardson’s Middle Eastern menu. The unbelievably tasty eggplant manoushe is a Lebanese-style pizza topped with eggplant, kasundi, akawi cheese and garlic yoghurt, perfect for vegetarians on the hunt for a hearty morsel.

Rhubarb Spritz from Diviners x Savile Row: Fortitude Valley’s consummate cocktail slingers Savile Row have teamed up with the gin geniuses at Diviners Distillery for a stall that promises mixology magic. The thirst-quenching Rhubarb Spritz mixes Diviners Outlier Gin with rhubarb, white grape and bubbles to create a fabulously fruity fizz.

Carne Asada from Cartel Del Taco: Brisbane newcomer and Night Feast first timer, Cartel Del Taco is founded and run by Mexicans Marco Ramirez and Erick Martinez, inspired by Mexico City’s 1980s taquerias. Offering a journey through authentic Mexican street-style food, we suggest the Carne Asada tacos. Filled to the brim with marinated rib fillet, melted cheese, salsa molcajetada, guacamole, onion and coriander, this is a dish that must not be missed.

Cherry on Top from Gelato Messina: We all scream for ice cream, particularly when it comes from masters at Gelato Messina. An eagerly awaited addition to the Night Feast roster, Gelato Messina has outdone itself with this dessert. Chocolate brownie and peanut crumble served with milk-choc-peanut-fudge gelato, vanilla chantilly and shaved chocolate – it’s sure to be the cherry on top of your night.
