One of the world’s finest fragrance makers has just released a new addition to its Classic Collection. EUCALYPTUS 20 by Le Labo harnesses a delicate mix of botanicals to conjure the sprawling vastness of Australia’s red sands, endless skies and expansive beauty.

SANTAL 33. THÉ NOIR 29. NEROLI 36. Even among Le Labo’s deep pantheon of phenomenal fragrances, some scents have attained icon status. It’s a tall order for any newly formulated aroma to break into the upper echelon of the slow perfumery’s range, but a long-awaited addition to Le Labo’s Classic Collection – one inspired by a quintessentially Australian symbol – might just earn itself a spot in our regular scent rotation.

This month, the world-renowned personal care brand is launching EUCALYPTUS 20, a fragrance inspired by the art of wandering – think far-away horizons, rolling red sands and unending miles of sky. The team describes EUCALYPTUS 20 as the “unambiguous scent of vastness”, with a delicate blend of eucalyptus and cedarwood, softened by the leather-like warmth of labdanum, musk and frankincense, offering a transportive aroma.

“There’s a saying that in order to find your way, you must first get lost,” says Le Labo Fragrances global brand president and creative director, Deborah Royer. “Our newest creation, EUCALYPTUS 20, is a sensorial homage to this paradox – an ode to the profound possibilities of wandering. Whether amidst the expansive beauty of nature – between arid sand and endless sky – or stepping off the well-traveled path, it is an invitation to embrace the unplanned and the uncharted.”

EUCALYPTUS 20 is available to the public from Saturday February 1. You can get a bottle – freshly blended and labeled by hand – at Le Labo’s James Street store.
